SFT ANIMAL SANCTUARY IS
A FOREVER LOVING HOME IN
Dear SFT supporters, followers and visitors,
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, our donations have been decreasing, and we are worried about our future.
Because of the lockdown, we are now not only feeding our TNVT babies and all the animals in the sanctuary but also the stray cats and dogs of Tangier. The trash bins are empty, the usual source of food for strays, such as restaurants and snack bars are all closed. The animals are going hungry!
We understand that times are hard for many but we can already see a huge decrease in our vital donations! We have even cut the salaries of our employees to minimise our costs. We are determined to get through this, but we cannot do it without your help.
So we are pleading with you. Please continue to support us so we can continue our vital work through this crisis. We have so many mouths to feed and animals to care for. Donate what you can, even a tiny donation means the world to us.
Thank you for all you already do. We hope you and your loved ones are safe and well. Hopefully, this nightmare will be over soon.
Loads of love from Sally, all the SFT Babies & and the SFT team
A BIT ABOUT US
Run by a small but dedicated team, SFT is currently home to over 500 animals including over 400 dogs, 120 cats, 30 donkeys and many more. As well as supporting the animals in our care, every year we are faced with hundreds of cases of neglect, abuse and cruelty.
We are saving hundreds of lives, changing attitudes, teaching love and compassion and helping our community. We are devoted to making Tangier an animal friendly city, where animals and humans can live in harmony.
But we can only continue to do this with your help. We currently receive no government aid and have no corporate sponsors. We rely completely on voluntary fundraising and donations to continue our vital work.
We face heartbreaking emergencies on a daily basis. From a new litter of puppies dumped by a bin, to car accidents leaving animals paralysed on the side of the road. We never turn away from an animal in need and do our very best for each any every one of them.
Every year in Morocco, thousands of dogs are tragically killed through fear of rabies, and as an attempt to control the population of strays. Through Project Hayat, we are changing mindsets and saving lives.
We are so proud to announce that SFT has been selected as the winner of the Global Rabies Day Award in the Meracon region for the third year running! Thanks to our amazing supporters Project Hayat is again recognised internationally.
The award gives SFT an even stronger position to be the voice of the voiceless, to keep fighting to stop the culling in Morocco, to keep changing mentalities, and of course to reach our goal to make Tangier the first rabies-free and animal-friendly city in Africa.
EXTRA SPECIAL CARE
We have 15 disabled dogs at the sanctuary who need everything from new wheelchairs and safe enclosures, to new parts and doggy diapers. Can you help us to keep them happy and healthy? Watch a wonderful video of them playing here.
WE NEVER GIVE UP
We pride ourselves on never turning away. We believe every life is precious and that is at the heart of what we do.
