From animal sanctuary to rabies prevention

SFT Animal Shelter in Tangier, Morocco, is the realization of founder Salima Kadaoui’s childhood dream. Growing up, Salima witnessed the suffering of stray animals and yearned to provide them with the love and care they deserved. In 2013, she began rescuing and assisting strays, leading to the establishment of the sanctuary. With over 600 animals now under its care, SFT Animal Shelter not only focuses on sheltering and providing medical attention, but also aims to tackle the root causes of the stray population. Through initiatives like Project Hayat, which emphasizes treating, neutering, vaccinating against rabies, and education, SFT Animal Shelter is transforming lives and working towards a rabies-free future for Tangier.
